Two year old birthday party! -Urbana, MD photographer

I had the pleasure of photographing a fellow MCPS teacher’s twins birthday party at the park in Urbana last weekend. I loved how laid back it was, and how the girls were surrounded by so many friends and family to celebrate them! This was a great location for a birthday party, as well. We ended up getting rained on, but it made for memorable puddle-jumping!

Sneak peek of my new packaging! -Washington, DC portrait photographer

I have been working so hard the past few months to re-organize my business and create a really special experience for my clients. I want a portrait session to be easy, relaxing, and unique from start-to-finish! I respect my clients’ time, and have made booking a session super simple through online contracts and payments, worked with a designer to renovate my logo and blog, and have finally put the finishing touches on my packaging. If you have taken a minute to read my philosophy page on my site, you know that I treasure prints, and want all clients to come away from a session with beautiful, custom artwork to display in their homes and share with loved ones. I am so excited to share a peek of my new packaging because I believe that my artwork deserves a pretty beautiful wrapping, and I want to make it all the more special for my clients when they receive their orders!

Here are a few pics of my new custom wooden USB drives for clients purchasing a digital package, handmade-paper print envelopes from Rice Supply, my new business cards from MOO, and a sample of my most recent accordion mini album order. I hope you love as much as I do!

Tiny little details. -Georgetown Newborn Photographer

One of my favorite things about a newborn session is capturing all the little details of new life. These are the things we forget as they grow- we forget about how much hair they really had when born, the little hangnails on their two-week old fingers, just how chubby their feet were. I will be sharing some more images of baby from this session soon, but for now, let’s just focus on these easily forgotten details:)

The popsicle series. -Washington. DC children’s photographer

After our morning at Mount Vernon, we just had to make a detour to The Dairy Godmother. Have you been to the Dairy Godmother, in Alexandria? It is in the Del Ray neighborhood, which is full of adorable boutiques and shops, and it is our very favorite place in this metropolitan area to get ice cream. Frozen custard, that is. You see, back home in Rochester, NY, we grow up on Abbott’s frozen custard, and here in Washington, you really can’t find any homemade custard. It is so creamy and smooth, that most ice creams can’t compare (of course if you are lucky enough to live in Wisconsin, you must try the Purple Door ice cream, since my very best of friends owns it!)

Anyways, back to The Dairy Godmother. We have been going there bi-annually since John Patrick was just a babe in my belly. This visit, I went with the flavor of the day- java chip, and John Patrick choose a fresh mango popsicle  Henry conked out in the car, so William hung out with him, and I was able to document John Patrick’s popsicle story. I can’t wait for Henry to get to an age where he ASKS me to photograph him as John Patrick does. He wanted to remember every bite of his homemade frozen delight. And with the bright orange color against his blue shirt, I couldn’t help but take a billion pictures:)Enjoy some of my favorites!

Now go on and make a trip to the Dairy Godmother’s this weekend! You won’t regret it!
